What happens when I send the callout form to PC Callouts?

The client will be contacted by one of our experienced computing professional technicians who will use the contact details provided.
We DO NOT offer free advice by phone. We will call using the mobile number on this page to confirm the callout date, time and problem.

What is the collect and return service?

This is when a technician comes round and collects the pc / laptop, repairs the problem and returns it to the client.

What if I do not have a Installation cd / Recovery cd / Recovery partition and I need Windows reinstalled?

The job will not be accepted until the client can obtain the correct cd, partition or genuine windows license sticker.

Why is the collect and return service cheaper?

Problems such as data recovery, scanning for viruses and reinstalling an operating system are very time consuming.
This allows the technician to get on with fixing other problems at the same time.

Do you check the pc before the collect and return service is allowed?

Yes, this is to ensure the pc / laptop hardware is in working order and so that it is not blamed on the technician.

What payment options do you accept?

Cash and cheque only.
Cash is preferred and cheques payable to 'PC Callouts' are accepted, but usually only for small business.
We have no online payment facility as the service is carried out at a later date, the exact cost to the client is unknown.

If a piece of hardware is faulty when will the technician let me know?

If hardware is faulty, the technician will let the client know ASAP and give possible options to proceed.

Can your technicians deal with all hardware faults?

No, the reason for this is some hardware faults are intermittent. This means that sometimes they will happen and other times work fine.
We do not generally deal with these types of problems. It often works out cheaper buying a new computer then it does to get it fully working.

Do you offer the callout service to anyone in the UK?

No, the callout service is only for clients in the city of Birmingham (UK).

Do you provide the client with an invoice for any work done?

Yes, two copies of each invoice are printed, one for the client and one for PC Callouts.
Carbon paper is used to duplicate data onto both invoices. Each invoice contains a copy of the terms and conditions on the reverse.
